Oh, an excellent idea. I'd done a default replacement of one type for my own game at one point but I hadn't even thought about ones for houses with foundations... I'd -love- to see these in more types... *hinthint*

I've been asking for something like this for a long long long time and I praise you for making some. I don't get either how EAxis could have made the columns too short, it makes no sense. I love you so much for making these. Pretty please make some more of the other EAxis columns in this size and I'll worship you for ever...

Is it only for the columns shown in the pictures or all of them? (all maxis ones)

At the moment I have only adjusted the simple column shown, and this was driven by the immediate need for an appropriate sized column for the current Creator Challenge. I would like to come back and do at least the rest of the base game columns when I have a moment.

It so happened that the simple column that I was using in the challenge was delightfully easy to adjust because it does not have a special top to it, I just has to fiddle a bit to get the height just right. When I do the other columns I will likely need to play around to keep the proportions looking correct.

Thank you for the encouragment folks! I did try the 5% taller one as a default replacement like yours HP, but unfortuately making it the default did not automatically change all the columns that were already in-game. So I thought it better to make it a standalone so that builders would have a choice. Personally I think it would be unlikely that I would use the built-in column again, but I suppose it is possible.

Thank you for correcting one of the weirdest mistakes I've seen in The Sims 2. I'm surprised EA haven't spotted this yet...

Its like you read my mind! I have been fighting with my columns so long I finally stopped using them because I hated putting foundations under them. Thanks for the great work and thanks even more for sharing them.

Thank you so so much for these, the one for houses with foundation will be extremely useful. I'm not a mesher and I don't request things either, but you granted my secret wish! :D

UPDATE Nov '11: Beacon Falls & Maple Valley are custom TS2 neighborhoods with storylines, add-on families & lots. The Beacon Falls Blog has separate business & vacation subhoods & Maple Valley's Blog has a separate university subhood. All have been fixed using Mootilda's HoodChecker.

Thanks for the great idea, for sure there are several other objects that need a correction for special purposes. Like so often we know what we miss when we see it done or available.

Thanks so much, I've been groaning about those short columns for ever. I look forward to the next batch, too.

It so bugged me that they are so short and I am glad that you decided to do this for us.
Thank You

Default Merry Christmas All!
Hee - hee, yes some house I guess!

(That would be the Creator Challenge project house that Mihura and I have been collaborating on)

I thought you were offline too until after the holidays! I couldn't resist coming here either to browse and socialize. We just opened our Christmas presents here today. High winds outside, but warm and wet.

The house is completely done, so I have been putting a lot of time into my rural TV antenna for it - actually designing it to spec as an electronics project!

Have a great Christmas Mihura! And Joyeux Noel! to all who may be reading here today!

Awesome! Thank you so much! These will be so nice, and will save me from always trying to figure out how to hide the gaps.

See my blog for my very latest lots, including some that are not available on MTS2: Twoflower's Sims 2 Lots. Also, see what's happening in Apple Grove, my Prosperity Challenge neighborhood.

Excellent! I've often wondered why in the world Maxis made the columns like that. At first I thought they had to be like that for some reason, but seeing yours obviously disproves that! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for the encouragment, folks! Aixlachaise has already put these columns to very good use in her lovely and authentic catalogue house here. I had better follow up with the rest of the base game collection!
