I've got a engaged chick that's a junior in college, but as soon as she's done, I'll test it for you. (bookmarking thread to remember)

thankyou, thankyou, thank you. recently had a couple marry in the local church, and everybody on the lot showed up, but there was no memory of the big church wedding, because they couldn't do the party scene. i have another couple "living in sin" who want to tie the knot in a big way, but are too poor to afford all the trimming the church has, and this will be great.

Well, I had a terrible wedding party, a complete flop! but my sims couldn't actually get married! The wedding arch isn't available in buy mode on a community lot, and there is no "propose..."option with either of my sims. But my bride (although not getting married) has a memory of a lousy wedding party! (off to find the cheat to allow me to put the wedding arch on a community lot!)

Okay, the "changeLotZoning" cheat is not working in my game. I'm trying to use it on a community lot to get access to the residential buy mode, do I have to start with a residential lot, THEN change it to community after I'm done? Any ideas?

edit: okay, I'm a doofus, you have to EXIT the lot before it changes to residential. I'll be back later with an update!

okay! I finally got the stars aligned properly! (After I had to go back and change the lot back to community from residential!)

Had a great wedding party on a community lot, with a memory for both the bride & groom. However, there was no limo to take the bride & groom away, they just took a taxi home, fyi. (didn't really care, so, eh.)

That's strange because I had a party at Woodland Chapel (from the sims exchange) and a limo came and picked them up straight after the party. I'll look into this.

well, hmmmm.

There was a glitch with the wedding cake (he was never able to feed it to her, just stood there) and I think by the time the party was over, the b&g were in the hot tub trying for a baby. Who knows.

Hi Janet,

I'm using Woodland Chapel from the sims2 exchange. Try it out and see if it works. Go to http://www.thesims2.com and click on exchange. Then type in Woodland Chapel. It gives you a fully furnished chapel fit for a wedding complete with a cake, wine and a wedding arch among other things. This is the only lot I've tried for a wedding and it works perfectly. They get married, cut the cake, toast and then when the party is over, jump into a limo and leave, come back then get a taxi home.

Will try this out, as I get fed-up of buying wedding stuff, setting it all up and selling it again. Oh, and JM Pescado has a fix for the problem of Sims peeing themselves on community lots. It's part of the phone hack, available here: http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/ffs/hacks/

Hasn't there been a site-wide announcement about stopping the "i'm first to post!" thing?? Anyway. This is great. I wanted to get my sims married downtown before but couldnt. Thanks

I had a wedding party and it seemed to be going well. Then when I had like 40 secs to go it turned out as a disaster and everyone left the party early. I wonder if it is because one of the bride's ex flings was there and caught her cheating when she kissed the groom.

I installed a lot from the sims exchange, added a cell phone seller, and had myself a wedding party. It was a roof raiser, and the limo came and got the couple, then brought them back.

Excellent hack!

This item makes it possible for you to use your cellphone and throw parties on community lots. Now I've been told that, without unversity, sims just stand there peeing themselves. But with university they should party on which is why I said university only.

Now don't expect all your guests to stay when the lot becomes crowded. The aim of this hack is to achieve the want for having a wedding party on a community lot (eg. a chapel); and to get a memory albeit bad or good of the wedding. I haven't fully tested it yet which is why I need testers but hopefully the limo will come on the community lot and take them on their honeymoon.

Any testers, please try and have a wedding party on a community lot and tell me how it goes. I know it works for a regular party. Anybody on the community lot should count as a party member in terms of social interactions raising the score. And with all the socialising on community lots and the arrival of new sims, it makes a party on this lot easier.

This has not worked for me, the house party has worked downtown, but not the wedding party  , a wedding party down town is a kewl idea, but i think it needs a bit of work!!!!!!!

I'll be trying out this hack, because I have a "next generation" of sims needing to get married, and always having weddings on the home lot is boring.

However, I remember before I had University, when I put a regular phone on a community lot, my sims always had the option to throw a party on the lot...did many weddings that way. I guess I haven't tried to throw a wedding on a community lot in a while, with putting a whole generation through University, but I guess they must have changed that ability, with cellphones and all being introduced in University?

From my past experience with weddings on community lots, I would suggest a couple things for throwing a good wedding party:

1. You definitely want to have the wedding arch and have your sims get married that way. The easiest way to have the wedding arch and other residential items available for community lots is to put them in a community collection, or download a community collection that has them. I know there are instructions on this site for creating a residential to community collection, because that's how I learned.

2. Sims love champagne. Yes, there is the danger that they will drink it so incessantly that they eventually pee on themselves, but it guarantees a good wedding if you just let them toast and toast.

Anyway, thanks for the hack, because apparently with University we now need it. Good job!

I tried this hack in a church I built and it worked great. My couple got married at an arch, sims sat in the pews (no idea how to spell it), it added such a classic touch to the wedding.

Only odd thing I noticed was that my sim was only able to invite 2 guests to his wedding. Is this because he's on a community lot and there are already several sims present?

Yes, you're right. Because he's on a community lot and there are lots of people, the game decides (depending on the performance of your machine) to limit the guests.

One way around this is to use the summoner and deleter from the InSIMenator. You could delete all current people, invite a handful and then summon the rest. Of course, when you summon them they won't be wearing formal but as soon as you head towards the arch, they will change into formal.

Carly, you must have a cellphone and then throw party when on a community lot. It isn't actually an object that shows up more so than a hack. So first thing to do is to buy a cellphone, second is to click on your sim and throw party.

If this doesn't work, it is possible you have a conflicting hack. A good giveaway to this is if you can't go to class.
